Orlando also puts you within an hour of some pristine ocean beaches by heading Coco or Daytona Beach.

If you are looking for something a little more laid back without all the hustle and bustle, go for Sanibel Island. It’s an amazing little island off of Florida’s Gulf Coast near Fort Myer. You know the really neat shells you see in souvenir shops? You can find some of them yourself on the beaches of Sanibel. It’s known for its great shell collecting and beachcombing.
